The Al Ain Wildlife Park & Resort (AWPR) is an exciting new development that will transform the existing Al Ain Zoo into a unique centre, dedicated to exhibiting and conserving the wildlife of the desert world.
Sustainable, educational and thoroughly entertaining, this new facility, one of the world’s most ambitious wildlife projects, will provide an extraordinary opportunity for visitors to explore the desert world. But while the experience will be amazingly authentic, visitors won't need to sacrifice any of their comforts, as the venue will also offer world class tourist amenities!
The long established zoo will continue to greet visitors until the end of 2010. It will then become a "behind the scenes" facility for conservation and research, while the AWPR will open its gates and welcome its guests.
From the moment they pass through the spectacular new main entrance, visitors will be immersed in a totally authentic desert safari experience, with abundant wildlife and expansive botanical exhibits that perfectly replicate real desert landscapes.
This educational aspect of the experience is fully explored in the Sheikh Zayed Desert Learning Centre, where sustainable practices, desert living and the history of the region are creatively displayed.
