Asian World Desert

Step into a small, green oasis and suddenly you're in Asia!

To your left you see strangely beautiful animals called Goitred gazelles. Then you come to a series of pools and as you cross the bridges you see flocks of Damoiselle cranes and Common cranes, enjoying the cooling waters. As you pass some high rock walls, keep an eye out for the Blue sheep that live there. Then step into the pavilion to see its fascinating collection of desert monitors, Indian bustards, Indian spiny-tailed lizards and many more amphibians.

Passing through another series of high, shady rock walls, you come upon the tram station where guests are disembarking from the Asian Wildlife Safari. Now you have a choice – you can take this safari, boarding from the Asian village near the Oasis Gardens. Or you can save it for another time and just view the safari trail from the pleasant, leafy trellis here while you pause for a welcome cold drink.

The way back leads you along a new trail beside a stream where the Pallas’ cats live, then a large area with Himalayan tahr and markhor roaming among the rocks. Now you come to the crane pools again, but from another direction. Take the fork to the right and your Asian exploration is completed.
