Magic of Movies Roars to Life in Al Ain

This summer Wednesday nights are Movie Nights at Al Ain Wildlife Park & Resort

Al Ain, XX June, 2010: From 30 June at the Al Ain Wildlife Park & Resort (AWPR), families can enjoy the UAE’s only outdoor cinema experience in a wildlife park, watching some of the world’s favourite animated films such as Madagascar 2, Ice Age 3, Bee Movie and Bolt, followed by visits to some real life versions of the animals themselves!

With shows starting at 8pm, visitors can settle onto picnic mats with snacks and drinks to enjoy animal-themed movies, and then continue the adventure by exploring the park and meeting the stars from the movies including giraffes, lions, zebras, wolves, and dinosaurs.

Kids of all ages can get involved in more fun games and activities from face painting, hair braiding and henna painting to bouncy houses, character appearances, and live animal displays.

“We are excited to welcome families and couples to AWPR on Wednesday evenings for our first Movie Nights – a unique cinema experience and a perfect way to spend a fun-packed summer evening this school holiday” commented Tom Kaferle, Director of Zoo & Wildlife Park Operations at AWPR.

“Animated films are an enjoyable and educational way to introduce children to the fascinating world of animals, and combining this with the sights, sounds and smells of a real wildlife park will create an unforgettable evening for the whole family,” continued Kaferle.

Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs will open the event on 30th June, followed the next Wednesday (7 July) by Madagascar 2, and in mid July with Happy Feed (14 July) and A Bugs Life (21 July). Other films planned in August include Dr Seuss, as well as Fantastic Mr Fox, The Ant Bully and Kung-Fu Panda.

Wednesday evenings will also feature the bird show, animal feedings, keeper talks, and the dinosaur trail exhibit. The Dinosaur Trail, with lifelike animatronic dinosaurs, is also open through September 2010.

Combination tickets to AWPR and Dinosaur Trail are 25 AED for adults and 15 AED for children between 3 and 12 years old. All tickets are free for children 0 to 2 years old. Movie Nights is included in entrance fee. Picnic mats will be provided, and food and drinks will be available.

From 24rd June to 4 August, AWPR is participating in the Summer in Abu Dhabi campaign where children aged 3 to 12 years will receive free admission when accompanied by a paying adult.

Al Ain Wildlife Park & Resort is now open for Wild Nights from 4pm to 12 midnight, and on Fridays from 10am to 12 midnight.
