April 20th 2010, - Al Ain, UAE: As part of its dedication to the Emiratisation policies set forth by the government of Abu Dhabi, the Al Ain Wildlife Park & Resort (AWPR), announced today its platinum sponsorship of the 2nd Al Ain Career Fair. The event is scheduled to be held at the Al Khabisi Hall in Al Ain on the 3rd, 4th and 5th of May 2010.
Emphasizing AWPR’s commitment to the government's Emiratisation strategy, Mohamed Al Hammadi, Chief Corporate Services Officer at AWPR said:” We proudly announce AWPR’s platinum sponsorship of the 2010 Al Ain Career Fair. Our sponsorship underscores our ongoing commitment to creating job opportunities for UAE nationals with the right skills and qualifications. Our recent participation in Abu Dhabi’s Tawdheef 2010 was very positive, where numerous UAE nationals applied for available and forthcoming positions. In Al Ain we are expecting more Emirati applicants to come forward.”
AWPR is offering a range of job opportunities to Emiratis in several non-traditional roles such as veterinary care, science, botany and education. AWPR’s recruitment strategy is in line with its ambitious expansion plans that will see the park become a model for cultural and ecological sustainability, conservation and education, all of which follow the principles established in the Abu Dhabi 2030 Urban Framework Plan.
“More than 350 people work at the Al Ain Wildlife Park & Resort with a high percentage of UAE Nationals, mostly from the city of Al Ain. By the time the project is complete, it is expected that a large number of people will have been employed by the Park and its various operations. This large number of employees will be required to host the expected 2.5 million guests who will visit the Park annually,” Al Hammadi added.
In addition to its involvement in career fairs across UAE, AWPR is offering learning and development opportunities to its current and future employees. Because of the specialized nature of the work at AWPR, on-the-job training, internships, and career development opportunities are offered to promising candidates. AWPR works with many area university students to provide internships which may lead to full-time employment upon graduation.
In addition to its successful participation in MICE events such as ITB Berlin, GITBM in Abu Dhabi and forthcoming participation in Cityscape Abu Dhabi, AWPR was recognized this year for its commitment to sustainable design at the Estidama Excellence Awards, receiving three awards including one for its Sheikh Zayed Desert Learning Centre, a premier example of Estidama’s high environmental standards. The building, which will stand as a memorial to late Sheikh Zayed’s conservation efforts, will showcase the opportunities of sustainable building design.
“AWPR’s strong growth reflects the advancing regional and global significance of Abu Dhabi as a destination,” Al Hammadi said. “Following the vision of the late Sheikh Zayed, we are pleased to invite Emarati Nationals to join in the development and operation of AWPR and the Al Ain City.”
