While construction is under way, the Al Ain Wildlife Park & Resort is making every effort to preserve the natural life that already exists on the site. Our Operation “Green Thumb” involves moving more than 500 trees, many of them taller than 20 metres (65 feet) and over 40 years old, with the help of an expert team flown in from California.
Using techniques developed in the US and applied for the first time here, each tree is carefully lifted, placed inside a tailored box made of eco-plastic lumber and moved to a temporary nursery, to await re-introduction once the development is completed.
