Environment Agency - Abu Dhabi

Environment Agency Abu Dhabi

Established in 1996, the Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi (EAD) is a government agency dedicated to protecting and managing biodiversity, providing a clean environment and promoting sustainable development in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. It is also committed to giving environmental protection, regulation and natural resources conservation the highest possible priority on the national agenda.

In concert with many organisations, businesses and individuals, EAD works hard to address the environmental challenges that the Emirate faces. It provides a direction for government, business and the community to weave environmental responsibility into the very fabric of the way we work and live, without compromising Abu Dhabi’s development.

The Agency firmly believes that the goals of protecting the environment and building a dynamic economy are not mutually exclusive and can be achieved simultaneously. Following the vision of 'a sustainable environment for a sustainable future'. EAD has played a pivotal role in helping to conserve species and habitats conservation in Abu Dhabi and globally. It currently hosts and supports the international secretariat for the IUCN’s Reintroduction Specialist Group.
