Climate

Bordering the Arabian Gulf and Gulf of Oman, the UAE is located at latitude 24.00 north and longitude 54.00 east. The City of Al Ain sits at a higher altitude than the UAE's coastal cities, making temperatures cooler and considerably less humid. This advantage makes conditions much more agreeable and its warm, arid climate makes for abundant sunshine. Winter months offer 11 hours of light per day, eight of which are sunshine. The summer months have up to 14 hours of light per day with 11 hours of sunshine.

Al Ain has four seasons. The coolest weather is during the winter season which lasts from December to March. Although short, the spring and autumn seasons offer warm but pleasant temperatures. The summer months, which start at the beginning of June and extend through the end of September, are hot.

The weather in the UAE may be some of the hottest weather one will ever experience. The summer months from June through September are too hot for comfort with average temperatures reaching 44°C. Night temperatures during this period drop on average to 25-29°C, bringing welcome relief from the day's searing heat. The winter months of December through March offer a much more pleasant experience. With midday temperatures averaging 23°C and overnight temperatures near 12°C, a sweater or jacket is often necessary.
