The Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority (ADTA) is responsible for tourism marketing, infrastructure and product development and for regulating the tourism industry’s licensing and classification procedures.
Since its inception in 2004 it has launched a range of integrated initiatives that promote Abu Dhabi as a luxurious destination with beautiful sun, sand and beaches, positioning the emirate as a preferred tourist destination among world travellers.
Working in close coordination with major players like Etihad Airways, ADTA and the tourist industry in general is now gearing up to attract business and leisure visitors in ever increasing numbers. The Authority aims to attract up to three million visitors annually by 2015. In order to provide these visitors with facilities, accommodation and attractions that are truly world class, ADTA has been successful in securing huge private sector investments.
As well as looking to the future, ADTA is also currently overseeing the maintenance and restoration of several important archaeological and historical sites.
Headquartered in Abu Dhabi city, the Authority is steered by an advisory committee that comprises local and international experts.
