Al Ain Zoo is committed to the conservation and restoration of desert biodiversity. To achieve this, we are developing an ambitious program for captive propagation of endangered species, species reintroduction and habitat restoration. To instil the imperative for conservation and a delight in biodiversity, we are partnering with schools, community groups and international conservation organisations.
This work is being undertaken in partnership with a wide variety of groups. Within the UAE we are working with Environment Agency - Abu Dhabi and the Emirates Wildlife Society, with schools |

and communities in Al Ain and the UAE and with conservationists in Jordan, Egypt, Yemen and Oman. Globally, our work reaches out to the remote Atlas Mountains of Morocco, the dry bushlands of northern Kenya and the steppes of central Asia. We are partnering with some of the leading conservation groups in the world, including the World Conservation Union, World Wide Fund for Nature, World Association of Zoos and Aquaria, World Zoo Association and Botanic Gardens Conservation International. We have strong linkages with leading conservation institutions including San Diego Zoological Society, the Fairchild Tropical Botanical Garden in Miami and the Royal Botanic Gardens Kew.
Al Ain Zoo is building on the strong strategic direction of the Abu Dhabi government in demonstrating a respect for land, nature and culture. Whether you are a guest or a resident, at Al Ain Zoo you can see a sustainable future is being grown. |
