For 5,000 years travelers journeyed through the vast expanses of the desert to reach the welcoming oases of Al Ain. Through time our oases provided respite from the arid land and nourishment for our people, who developed a deep reverence and fond respect for the resources of this vast desert landscape.

The late Sheikh Zayed, native son of
Al Ain and founding father of the UAE, proclaimed “On land and in the sea our forefathers lived and survived in this environment. They were able to do so because they recognized the need to conserve it, to take from it only what they needed to live and to preserve it for succeeding generations.”

This welcoming spirit of hospitality tempered with a profound respect for the environment continues today. The city of Al Ain is on course for further development, but this development is true to our heritage.
